Do any of you guys burn coal from blashack coal corp in pine grove pa?? My dad has burned it for a few years with pretty good results. I just recently bought my own house and installed a coal insert. I bought a few bags from a local guy and I believe the coal was garbage (I was burning my stove at 475 on the side of the stove and the fire went totally out in 14 hrs). I'm debating picking up a ton of coal from harmony mine or getting it from blashack. Anybody have an opinion?? Thanks

HOLY CLINKERS !!
I pulled these out of my furnace today  I've been pushing the furnace a little harder than usual with the colder few days we had, along with burning red ash with more fines than nut size in it. I've been purposely forcing it to burn loads pretty thick with fines so I'm not left with a half ton of fines at the end of the season... Thats a quarter for size reference..

Picked up a Radiant Home Air Blast No. 264A...have some Q's?
Just got a stove today and trying to learn a little about it. :)
1.) Can the year of manufacture be determined from numbers on inside of shell, cast into castings?
2.) Will this only burn Soft Coal and Wood? Not Hard Coal?
Here is old ad featured in newspaper long ago... http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2252&dat=19011025&id=kBdKAAAAIBAJ&sjid=MCENAAAAIBAJ&pg=5683,5515380

Collector of coal scatter tags, (small discs thrown in coal)
Hi- new member from Missouri here, not a coal burner but a wood burner. I live in western MO and no house coal available within 300 miles. I once worked at an Illinois mine that sold high sulfur 6"x3" lump coal. I collect the small discs that used to be thrown in house coal known as scatter tags; I have about 100 different kinds from all over the US. There are occasionally tags for sale on Ebay but not many from the Anthracite region of PA. Perhaps some members of this Board kn…

History of the NRA
First thing you have to know is that in 1968, the NRA wasn't a "political" organization (and hadn't been one since it started in 1871). The majority of "RKBA" activism started after 1968 (the 1977 NRA Convention was the start). The gun magazines (especially GUNS) had articles on gun rights and RKBA issues, but there was not national RKBA movement.
So let's look at a history of NRA "compromise".

Any suggestions for fixing a leaking boiler tank on EFM S20
After many years of happy and uneventful use our EFM S20 appears to be leaking water in the location of the vertical tubes where the heatilators are installed. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix his issue? Does anyone know if it is possible to get another boiler tank for an S20 or whether other EFM boiler tanks will fit on this unit? Thanks.

Harman mag with hot water coil problem
I'm getting an odor coming from stove when all the hot water is used from 40 gal tank.
When the cold water starts going through you can smell it (almost like a sulfer smell)
CO detector is not registering anything so its not a venting problem like I first thought it was.
If anyone can help me with this please reply

Gun stupidity in Ithaca, NY
Ithaca had a buy back program over the week-end & 60 guns (registered or unregistered) were turned in to--supposedly curb projected criminal activity. Question??? do you think it was the criminals that were "responsible enough to turn in these weapons" ????? It amazes me how stupid people can be. OR, me thinks possibly it was just the Police pulling 60 confiscated weapons out of the evidence room to motivate DUMB-ASS people to turn their's in??????

Need help finding someone to work on boiler in nys. Too hot!
Hey guys first post new to this site and burning coal. I found an old boiler in my friends farm basement that had never been fired. Plate says 1980 new yorker steel. I really enjoy burning the coal and have learned ALOT here, (very appreciated), but am still having a fair amount of trouble controlling the burn. I can shut everything down including the manual dampener, and hear air getting into the stove at a pretty heavy rate. It will burn hot and fast, leaving klinkers the size of footballs …

Handfired or stoker furnace, should I switch
Hey gang, ok so I've got a hand fired furnace burning nut and killing a hair over 2 bags a day, my firebox will hold 3 bags of coal so I have to drop a bag in before I leave in the morning and another at night before I go to bed. Way lower pain factor than burning wood which I do in that furnace from time to time but still somewhat of a PITA shaking, poking and loading twice a day.

Plumbing books
Looking for anyone who wants to sell their Seigenthaler (sp?) books or any of the other comic books (as they they are sometimes called.)
Thinking of possibly redoing the plumbing on the AA this summer and considering switching over to a primary-secondary system.
I know some of you have been told to get these books before installing your boilers and since you now have it installed, I'm thinking you may want to get rid of the books.
Rick

For Sale a Will-Burt Hold Fire Timer Model 20350
I have a Will-Burt Hold Fire Timer Model 20350 for sale. Before using it, I sent the timer to the Will-Burt Co. in Ohio and had it completely reconditioned. I then used it for one heating season from November until April. I have had no problems with it. This timer is designed for use on coal boilers. Reason for selling - I purchased a different timer to be used on my EFM DF520. I would like to get $ 175.00 for the timer; plus the cost of shipping. Pm me if you’re interested.

Print 1 Trillion Dollar coins to pay off the National debt?
You bet ya! This is actually something being seriously considered. Now you can't just pay down the $16 trillion dollar national debt with any old stroke of the pen or some other form of mystical voodo. No way! It takes a special magic platinum coin to do the trick right and make it legal.

Repairing Petit Godin
I have a Petit Godin that I used successfully for three heating seasons, actually moving it in and out each year from a seasonal rental. Then I put it in storage for two years, and eventually bought a house of my own. I wasn't sure what I was going to do for heat in my new house, which has oil-fired HWBB, and which had a crappy wood stove installed when I bought it. The house has an appropriate flue in the living room, but with an 8" thimble; the Godin has a 5" flue outlet, and in t…
